PrepareTheinstallation
Site
Your refrigeratorisdesignedto be partof a built-inkitchencabinetsystem.Be
sureto coordinatesite preparationand installation
with
yourkitchencontractor.
includetheseminimumguidelinesin yoursite preparation:
•
Choosea place neara groundedelectricaloutlet.
•
Donot use an extensioncordor an adapter plug.
•
Avoiddirectsunlightand closeproximityto a range,dishwasheror other
heatsource.
•
Floorshouldbe leveland ableto supportafully loadedrefrigerator.
•
Therefrigerator'sice& Water Dispenserrequireswater supplyaccess.
•
Planforeasy accessto countertops whenremovingfood.
•
Forcompleteaccessto drawersand freezerbaskets,doors mustbe able
to fully open.
Allow the followingclearancesfor easeof installation,properair circulation,and
plumbingand electricalconnections:

Bynow, youhavealreadyremovedyour refrigerator'sshippingcarton.You maysill
needto use a handtruckto move itthrough closespacesor entrances,if the
refrigeratorislargerthan an entrance,considertwooptions:
•
Removethe entrancedoorif oneexists.
•
Removethe refrigeratordoors(see how in your
Use&
Care
Guide).
Whenusinga handtruck:
•
Loadrefrigeratorfromside of cabinetonly.
•
Donot run retainingstrapsover handles.
•
Donot over-tightenretainingstraps.
•
Neveruse refrigeratorhandlesto movethe refrigerator.
•
Removetapefrom doorsonly afterunitis in place.

Connect
Water
Supply
What you will
need:
•
Accessto acold waterline
with pressureof
30-100psi.

•
Coppertubingwith ¼-inch
(6.4ram)OD. Lengthfor
this tubingisthe distance
fromthe rearof the refrigeratorto your household
water supplylineplus 7feet (2.1 meters).
•
A shut-offvalvefor the connectionbetweenyourhousehold
water lineandthe refrigeratorsupplyline.
Donot use aself-piercingshut-offvalve.
•
A compressionnut and ferrule(sleeve)for thewater supply
connectionat the rearof yourrefrigerator.
To
connect
the water
supply
to the rear of
yourrefrigerator:

Ensurethat the refrigeratoris not pluggedin.

Flushthe supplylineuntil wateris clearby placingthe end of the
coppertube in a sinkor bucketand openingthe shut-offvalve.

Removethe plasticcapfromthe watervalveinlet at the rear
d
your refrigerator.Discardthe cap.

Slidethe brasscompressionnut, thenthe ferrule (sleeve)onto
coppertube.

Pushthe coppertube intowatervalveinlet as far as it will go
(1/4inch).

Slidethe ferrule (sleeve)intovalve andfinger-tightenthe
compressionnut ontovalve.Tightenanotherhalfturn with a
wrench.
Donot
over-tighten.

Securethe coppertube to your refrigerator'srearpanelwith a
steel clamp andscrew (seeillustration).

Coilthe excesscoppertubing(about2V_turns)behindyour
refrigeratoras shown.Arrangecoiledtubingto avoid vibrationor
wear againstothersurfaces.

Openwatersupplyshut-offvalveand tightenanyconnections
that leak.

PlaceIn PermanentPosition

if possible,usea handtruckto positionthe refrigeratordirectlyinfrontof
itscabinetenclosure.
Becarefulnot to movethe refrigeratorbeyonditswatersupply(copper
tubing) connections.
Pluginthe powercord, and pushthe refrigeratorstraightback into
place.
5 LevelRefrigerator& Adjust Doors(ifnecessary)
Guidelines
forfinal positioning
of
your refrigerator:
•
Allfourcomers oftbe cabinetmust restfirmlyontbefloor.
•
Thecabinet
shouldbelevelatthetent andrear.
•
Thesidesshouldtilt

ensurethatdoorscloseandsealproperly).
•
Doorsshouldalignwitheachotherandbelevel.
All
ofthese
conditions canbemet by raising
or
loweringthe adjustablefrontrollers.
To level the
cabinet using
the front rollers:

Openboth doors and remove the toe grille by gently pulling forward
(see illustration f).

Close the doors and use a flat-blade screwdriver or 3/8 inch socket
wrench to raise or lower the front rollers. (See illustration 2.)

Ensureboth doors are bind-free with their seals touching the cabinet
on all four sides.
To
level the
doors using
the lower
hinge:
1
Ifthe refrigerator door is lower than the freezer door, raise the
refrigerator door by turning the adjustment screw clockwise. (See
illustration 3.)

Ifthe freezer door is lower than the refrigerator door, raise the
freezer door by turning the adjustment screw clockwise. (See
illustration 3.)

Ensuredoorstopflangeistouchinghingeflange.Ifnot,readjust
asnecessary.

Replace
thetoegdllebyfittingitintoplace.
